How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
Hospitality has always been a natural for me. I love people, love to cook, and love to make the stranger feel welcome. I personally love traveling and am involved at the nearby University of Pennsylvania.
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
Free parking for our guests, to my knowledge no one else has it. Victorian Splendor at it highest degree. Wonderful antiques.
How many locations do you have and do you have plans to expand?
One location in Philadelphia, looking to expand to the mountains of Northern Pennsylvania

Located 2 blocks south of Baltimore Avenue at 46th Street. Easily accessible from Route 76. Take exit 346B. Head toward the University of PA, pass under the pedestrian walkway connecting the hospitals. Turn left at the second light onto Baltimore Avenue. Stay in left lane marked for Woodland Avenue. In just a few blocks you will come to a fork, Chester Avenue bears right. Follow through Clark Park to 46th Street. Turn left at 46th and then a left into the driveway behind the house. The Gables is a large brick home with wrap-around porch on the southeast corner of 46th and Chester.

Which areas do you service?
We are located in University City and so very convenient to University of PA, University of the Sciences, Drexel University, the Children's Hospital, Hospital of The Univ of PA, and only 15 minutes from Center City by convenient public transportation. The Museums and Historic area and The Convention Center are very easily accessible.
Who owns your company or runs daily operations?
Warren Cederholm and Don Caskey are the owners and innkeepers. We have an attentive staff of 5 people who help with breakfast, clean rooms and also tend to the lawn and garden.
What are your hours of operation?
Guest may check in between noon and 10PM. Other times by prior arrangement. Breakfast is served to our guests between 8:00 and 9:30 AM.
What is the best compliment anyone can give you?
The Gables is our home away from home.
