How long have you been in business?
Quietmind Fdn was founded in 2000 and has been in operation since that time with locations now in Wyndmoor, Elkins Park and New York City and Manhattan Beach, CA.
What is your primary product or service?
We are an applied clinical research and consulting practice in neuropsychiatry, neuropsychology, and behavioral medicine. Our mission is to study and promote the integration of noninvasive, non-drug technologies into public health and education. We conduct ongoing clinical research and provide therapeutic services to people with challenges relating to mood, movement and cognition.
How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
My background was in mind-body integration, adult education and group and organizational behavior and this evolved to included cognitive neuroscience and applied psychophysiology. My personal experience with traumatic brain injury and dementia focused my attention on neurodegenerative conditions and their remediation with non-drug approaches.
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
We are integrative in our approach and use both traditional medical, rehabilitation and psychosocial approaches with more functional and systemic treatment methods. Our focus has been on the use of near infrared light and brainwave biofeedback techniques which we have developed from our research and are unique in the world at this time. Our model also involves the shifting from office to home-based treatment to reduce costs and the social stigma associated with medical and neuropsychiatric conditions.
How many locations do you have and do you have plans to expand?
We are located in Elkins Park, Wyndmoor, New York City and Manhattan Beach, California with plans to expand the home training component of our work worldwide.
